Description: An early version of the Geolithic style cabinet exhibited at Directional Furniture in New York City. This type of deep, surface carving, reminiscent of the action of water on rock over billions of years, was debuted by me at Directional in 1972 and revived later in the 90’s. The name “Volga” refers to the carving motif which varies with each cabinet. This cabinet was outfitted internally for a client’s stereo system.
