Description: Early designs of music stands without adjustable faces. The faces of these music stands were perforated with a series of closely spaced holes and then rounded over with a router to create a wave-like effect. This was an early technique to create undulating forms in wood before I developed and perfected free form carving with a battery of machine and hand tools. In the early 70’s I also used this technique to carve bookstand faces and trays to hold small pieces of jewelry.
