Description: An example of several jewelry boxes made of various species of solid wood with three, velvet-lined drawers and dovetailed corners. The one pictured here is in African Benge. Handles were carved into the façade, using a different motif for each box. The top two drawers had jewelry pockets drilled into the solid wood drawer, very close together and carved to blend into each other. The time required to make them made them impractical to sell so they would up mainly as gift items to friends and family.
